Welcome to my humble little internet space. I am Candace, otherwise sometimes known as Mme. Bookling.
Later, I want to tell you the story of your Death Disco - how surprisingly beautiful it was for us all. But for now, I leave this her...

oh, lady whitney. there are so many things i love about this. i shall make use of our favorite, la liste:
photo 1: the reflection of your journal in the jewel-depths of the wine, and sylvia out of focus in the background.
photo 2: a close-up of your writings, the totally unique cadence of which i have now seen in the flesh...
photo 7: this image to me is so solitary, so focused, grabbed with supreme clarity out of a film about your life and your thoughts.
photo 12: the color and movement of the water...your red scarf and clasped hands. your girlish, pinned-back hair, and the real-ness of your squint and your smile. this is one of my favorite pictures of you that i've ever seen. perhaps it can go on the cover of YOUR unabridged journals one day. i'll be first in line (elbowing a few others i'm sure to keep my place) to buy a copy. will you sign it?
merci pour sharing.
oh lady raven,
yes.
signed with solidarity, affection, and awe,
lady whit.
The first time I looked at this post there was far too much light. Now that no longer only see myself reflected in the screen by the mid-morning sun (this isn't some sort of analogy, I usually spend my morning with the laptop on our back porch) I find that I have soiled my trousers just a bit because that first picture is amazing.
Also, I am very pleased when I see a man thoroughly pulling off a look in a hat of that nature and Joel very much pulls it off.
Finally, it is obvious by your penmanship in that second photograph that you were not meant to teach at the high school level; it is definetly the colegiate education world that requires your services. Put a little more effort into it and you are prime doctor material.
Here your true nature is revealed...
Your veins course with wine, ink and sea water.
Absolutely lovely, my darling.
Might I say, your photography of late has been my favorite thing to look at.
Bar none.
It's beautiful work.
This work of yours.
XO
