Easter Cute Overload

Easter was ever so idyllic this year.  We spent the night and woke up to a gorgeous sun rising over the property.  After a quiet morning while the parents went to church, Joel's Grandpa Rosenquist arrived and we all snacked on an epic antipasti platter before taking Bowie outside for a few photos. Mom and Dad bought chicks just in time for Easter!  We took advantage of the uncharacteristically warm March day and let Bowie and the chicks meet each other out on the grass.  Please prepare yourself for too much cute...it may kill you.  After a very long nap (thanks Grandma!) we lingered over a delicious meal and relaxed as Bowie played with her plastic Easter eggs.  I hope you are still warm and fuzzy from your own celebrations.

Baby's First Snow

A very simple Spring flurry welcomed us to today in typical Seattle weather unpredictability. It did not stick, and it was barely noticeable, but it remained Bowie's first snow.  This morning, as we sat on my bed cozily looking out the window, she watched the snow pensively, as if she too knew it was somehow out of the ordinary.  The reverie ended quickly as she returned to her task of torturing the cat (Octavia is so glad she's not crawling yet).  We stepped outside later in the morning after I hastily put her large head into her tuque and for a few seconds, she stared in wonderment...the precisely perfect reaction to one's first snow. She's really quite smart you know.

The first cheerios.
The first tooth.
The first cherry-blossom sighting of Bowie's life, at the library no less.

There's just nothing like your first.

En Vogue

Oxblood lipstick is all the rage right now.  No daughter of mine will be left behind such important trends.

Happy Halloween and the making of

May the force be with you, you parents who know what it's like behind the scenes of those adorable pictures. Sigh.  I'm SPENT.

Off to watch a scary flick (thinking 'Aliens') and drink a bottle of wine with my butterfingers.
