One of my favorite gifts from Joel this year is this star projector lamp.  It is hanging out with a vinyl copy of "The Music of Cosmos" that I bought him.

  We are crushing on the universe this year.

“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.”  Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Some Wordsworth for your starry soul

..."O most ambitious Star! an inquest wrought
Within me when I recognised thy light;
A moment I was startled at the sight:
And, while I gazed, there came to me a thought
That I might step beyond my natural race
As thou seem'st now to do; might one day trace
Some ground not mine; and, strong her strength above,
My Soul, an Apparition in the place,
Tread there with steps that no one shall reprove!"

I am jealous! Now I need a star projector. And Carl Sagan is simply wonderful. We ARE made of the same stuff.

The more I read about Sagan, the more he becomes one of my heros.

Every Sunday at the coffee shop where Tim and I work is "Sagan Sunday". They put Cosmos up on the TV, and blast the audio.
